Cardiographic technicians (known by some as EKG technicians) perform specific tasks of implementing electrocardiographs (or EKG) to patients. It involves monitoring of heart rhythms, results of which are being passed on to physicians for diagnosis. An associate degree as an EKG technician that usually takes two years to finish is a must. Trainings are thorough and needed. EKG technician’s tasks are very crucial and a high level of dexterity and knowledge are very much necessary.

The average salary for an entry level usually ranges from $22,000 to $32,000 a year. Some EKG technicians can earn as high as $74,000 a year, some can even perform their career freelance.
